Path to Life
Translated by Aileen Strauss and Leslie Cohen
Grief is one of the hardest things to deal with after loss, especially for the closest relatives of the person who committed suicide. Suicide raises questions and bewilderment about the reasons for the act, as well as feelings of anger, guilt and shame. These lead to further questions about the future.
In support groups, family members meet people who have suffered similar pain in a supportive and non-threatening environment which allows for sharing and expressing feelings. Working through grief within a support group assists families in adjusting to the new reality and offers meaning and hope for the future. The support groups are guided by professional counselors.
Our organization works with parents, sisters and brothers, spouses and children of the suicide.
